This project is a continuous record of police violence; therefore, there’s no scheduled “ending” presented or planned. The goals/hopeful results from the project differ for the group of people.
Digital Humanities values the openness and diversity of information within analysis. Additionally, the documentation, as well as the compiling, formatting, and visualization of data, is apparent in this strong project. This project aims to account for the lives killed by police, fueling a fight against normalcy within police violence.
The Public
This project, from the average viewer’s perspective, aims to inform and visualize the relevant issue of violence in our law enforcement. Statistical records of each and every victim, as well as color-coded maps, calendars, and graphs/diagrams, put the danger to the common public in perspective, hopefully sparking exponential growth in the voices of not only those affected, but by those bothered seeing their fellow Americans killed by the very units made to protect and serve. Almost 1,100 people have been killed in the United States this year; change needs to happen, and change starts with our voices.
