The research goal of Migration Diaries is to understand the complexities of migration through the lens of personal experiences. The project seeks to provide insights into the social, emotional, and economic aspects of migration and how migration is experienced differently depending on factors like gender, age, and social background. This research helps to enrich broader migration studies, offering a more nuanced and human-centered perspective.
A goal of digital humanities is to analyze and interpret cultural data. This goal aligns with Migration Diaries. As Migration Diaries strives to understand and produce migration data, there is an overlap in wanting to analyze and interpret data between this project and Digital Humanities.
The goal of the project Streetscape Palimpsest was to engage with how a place’s visible (and sometimes invisible) history can be revealed through its streetscape. The project aimed to explore the idea of layers within urban spaces—particularly how a city’s historical, cultural, and social narratives can be traced and interpreted through its streets and architecture.
The digital humanities’ goal of analyzing and interpreting cultural data also overlaps with the Streetscape Palimpsets project. The Streetscape Palimpsest focuses on analyzing their collected data while presenting it in an interactive and accessible forum. Thus, the Streetscape Palmisets goal can overlap with this Digital Humanities goal.
