This project aims to enhance accessibility to historical records by visualizing economic data while integrating DH methods into historical research, providing a deeper understanding of Renaissance Florence by showing how wealth and power were concentrated among certain families and social classes.
The project preserves this information and highlights how economic structures shaped the lives of both the urban elite and the rural working populations, showing patterns of inequality in early modern Europe.
