The
Stop ICE Project
Stop ICE Raids Alert Network is a national, community-driven alert and mapping project that tracks Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity across the U.S.
It allows users to report, verify, and visualize raids, detentions, and sightings in real time.
This project analyzes Stop ICE as a Digital Humanities case study that demonstrates how data visualization, mapping, and community reporting can advance social justice activism.
By examining the site’s structure, data sources, and technologies, it highlights how Stop ICE uses open, crowdsourced information to document immigration enforcement, promote public accountability, and empower marginalized communities through a digital archive of resistance grounded in DH values of accessibility, transparency, and ethical engagement.
