Research Values
Value 1 – Accessibility:
The project shares complicated land history data in an open and visual way. This lets everyone, not just scholars, explore government records and learn from them.
Value 2 – Collaboration:
The project brings together historians, designers, programmers, and data experts. This teamwork reflects how digital humanities projects depend on people with different skills working toward a common goal.
Value 3 – Education/Public Awareness:
By turning data into interactive maps, the project helps people see how land ownership and settlement changed over time. It teaches users about U.S. history more engagingly and understandably.
