My name is Maggie Magargee andI am a graphic design student at West Chester University. This project is called Illuminate WCU and has been created for the class DHM280 (Fall 2025).
The basis of the project brief was to create a digital humanities project that addresses a need in a local community. Currently at West Chester University (WCU) students, staff, and visitors regularly navigate campus after dark. While the lighting at WCU is mostly maintained and safety tools are provided, there are no public maps showing lighting levels, emergency call stations, or safe nighttime routes.
This proposal responds to that gap by suggesting a digital project that would improve safety awareness, transparency, and community decision-making.
