The main result of this project is a public multimedia archive that connects an audience of those unfamiliar with Peoria and Pryor’s background to the realities of living in the segregation and inequality of mid-20th-century America.
The project feels complete through its cohesive use of text, visuals, and interactive maps, which together form a polished and self-contained digital narrative.
By turning historical research into an immersive digital narrative that grows awareness and social understanding, it has made this kind of scholarly research more accessible and engaging. In doing this it connects to Digital Humanities values of openness and education.
