Space, Place, and Location

Locations of the caches

Eaglecaching is a project that unites space, place, and location. Space is used to help place the caches. With the names of the places the caches are located the project utilizes place. It also uses location to capture a moment in American University’s history by using coordinates of the caches that are spread out throughout the University.

Most caches are related to former presidents that have visited the University. These caches are called the famous faces caches. Each has information of the speeches that the presidents gave at American University.

Other caches called Unique AU are important landmarks to American University. These may be places in which students are mainly involved in the making or the inner workings of the location and that have significant historical value.

Finally there are AU Confidential caches that involve common places that students may spend their time.

With the Eaglecache map, all locations of the caches are easy to be found even if one is not acquainted with the University. Also the coordinates are provided so with a modern phone or GPS, the caches can be located exactly where they are.
