Our Project

Team Monarchy’s website is dedicated to proving whether or not What America Ate is a satisfactory digital humanities project. We used our knowledge on digital humanities along with deep research into the project to come to a conclusion. This project is for our second assignment for our digital humanities class.

Our Methodology

There are five main topics we go through to bring us to our final evaluation of What America Ate: overview and significance; methodology and transparency; values; space, place and location; and audience and peer projects. After dissecting the site with those five main ideas in mind we are able to come to a verdict for the project. Digital Humanities projects should clearly fit all five elements and create something that is open for use by other people.

Our Reasoning

This project started as an assignment for our digital humanities class at West Chester University, Our main goal for this project is not only to find out whether or not What America Ate is a well done project, but to also show readers why. After people come to our website we hope that they are leaving with the knowledge of what makes a digital humanities project, so they can begin to tell for themselves. As for picking What America Ate as said reviewed project it was a simple choice. From first glance the base of the project seems adequate. While reviewing and doing our own research into the project it also allowed our team to learn more about depression era culture and the way a digital humanities project can be done.
