This project hopes to eliminate the question of why there is little to no background on drag queens in West Chester, PA; as well as creating a basis for the information to be archived. While, the grunt work will be daunting, the collaborative efforts will be an inviting opportunity for LGBTQ+ and their supporters. Hopefully, fostering a more accepting community who is excited and willing to learn all about West Chester’s past, and embrace the future.
By creating a constantly updating archive of information on drag queens in the area, and all aspects related to them, we are able to bring the community together. While, those who contribute are those who are (or have been) involved in the scene, this collaborative work will bring to light the history of West Chester not only to them, but to others who were not even aware of the drag scene.
Collecting, updating, and communicating, we are able to bring about acceptance and knowledge within our town and the people who live in the community.
