Research Values

Linked Jazz Research Goals:

“At the heart of our work are oral histories of jazz musicians. We are currently expanding our data sources to include other document types and music-related datasets.”

The Linked Jazz project values its extensive research on data collection such as:

  • Working with custom made digital tools (transcript analyzer, name mapper, crowdsourcer)
  • Taking interviews from volunteers who help discover the relationship between musicians

Additionally, the project is open to further collaboration by jazz archives from Carnegie Hall and Tulane University to expand their historical records of many jazz musicians the country. The network is an ongoing work in progress that has consistent updates on their website.
