Goal

Their main goal is to understand how and why texts spread widely. With that goal, analysis reveals that there is a strong social impact to racial violence.

I believe the audience for the goal listed above are those not only interested in politics, but also racist rhetorical analysis. Mapping how papers spread lynching is definitely a gruesome topic, but those who want to further their own education and compare to modern news could gain good insight.

I do think their main goal of knowledge of the nineteenth-century print public sphere is very textbook for what digital humanities does. They are using digital methods to map out newspapers headlines and stories to piece together virality.

I think the documentation could be more thorough on the main page. I would have enjoyed a more cohesive overview than having to hunt through different tabs.
