Bestselling Books Project

Square

Bestselling Books Project is a digital project created around 2024 that creates a visualization of the bestselling books throughout the years, and exploring how they interrelate with each other. The goal of the Bestselling Books Project is to explore the network of book subjects and their interrelations with each other. Initially the project was meant to focus on genres and sales to evaluate book readers’ interests, but the team behind the project decided to take another approach instead. By concentrating on common genre tag words used to describe and categorize books, allowing for readers to find either what books fall under the tags they want to read or what tags the book you selected can be found.

In terms of connecting with Digital Humanities’ goal, the project helps for people to find the kind of books they wish to read. It’s one thing to look for a specific book when you know the title and such, but it can narrow your search that can overlook the other books around you that holds the same kind of genres you’re into. So the Bestselling Books Project helps you to not only find any books that fall under the genre tags, but also other topics that may be what interests you or want to avoid in the books.
