Mapbox will serve as the primary tool for building the project’s interactive web map. It allows for customizable map styles, smooth zooming, and intuitive data layering, which makes it ideal for visualizing differences in school funding across Philadelphia.
Using Mapbox also enables the project to embed clear pop ups, color coded funding levels, and user friendly navigation, making the final map intuitive for parents, students, and community members.

Interpretive writing will be used to explain the patterns revealed in the map and connect them to the broader historical and social context of school funding in Philadelphia. This method helps translate complex data into clear, meaningful insights that non technical audiences can understand.
By pairing narrative explanation with visual evidence, the project ensures that users not only see funding disparities but also understand why they exist and why they matter.
