Project 3
Asks me to design and propose a digital huminites project that demonstrates how digital tools, data, and humanities-based analysis can work together to answer meaningful questions. For this assignment, I am creating a project idea, explaining its purpose, identifying its audience, and outlining the data, tools, and methods it would use.
The goal of project 3 is not to build the full project, but to show that I understand how to plan a DH project that follows best practices in accessibility, documentation, cultural awareness, and ethical data use.

Project itself
My project is called “Analyzing Online Student Communities Using Text Mining.” This project focuses on understanding student experiences by examining the conversations students have in public online spaces.
By collecting text from platforms like Reddit, Instagram comments, public Discord channels, and local anonymous posts, the project uses digital text-analysis methods to identify common themes, concerns, and patterns in student life.
This connects directly to the goals of Digital Humanities because it uses computational tools to study culture, communication, and community.

Goals
The goal of my Project 3 website is to clearly explain what this project is about, why it matters, who it serves, what data it uses, and how it aligns with DH values. My site will walk through the project’s purpose, social justice impact, goals, data sources, tools, similar projects, and the ways this project would help its intended audience. By the end, the website will show that this is a feasible, meaningful DH project that uses text mining to better understand student experiences.
