The Border Studies Archive (BSA) is a research and data-driven repository dedicated to documenting the complex dynamics of the U.S.–Mexico border region, with a focus on South Texas. Housed within the University Library and affiliated with the Department of Anthropology at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, BSA functions as both an archival repository and a research hub for the study of border dynamics. Its holdings encompass a wide range of materials addressing militarization, environmental justice, migration, governance, health, and regional development. By supporting both qualitative and quantitative approaches, BSA provides scholars, practitioners, and policymakers with the tools to examine the historical and contemporary forces shaping life along the border. This guide points researchers to some of the best resources for general and archival research in Latin American Studies.
