Abstract
The purpose of this website is to discover projects aimed towards analyzing and preserving classic musical compositions, and comparing them to the role of digital humanities. We can compare their many similarities and how these two fields contribute to our access to its education, history, and cultural significance to the arts.
The role of composition in a digital age
One of the most iconic composers of the early 19th century such as Ludwig van Beethoven. With an extensive collection of musical scores, both well known and undiscovered, there is plenty of research to be done with this legendary figure and to analyze the artistry and technique of his writing process. Many organizations such as the Beethoven Werkstatt have spearheaded this project in using digital technology to assist in breaking down Beethoven’s grand orchestrations to better understand the decisions he made written down on paper.
This website is an assignment for Intro to Digital Humanities for the Spring 2026 term.
