Tools

To make COINS interactive, website mechanisms that utilize JavaScript were used: React, PixiJS, and D3. Each mechanism had a different job, and they all work together to create the award-winning interactive site. D3 allows for the animations to show various distributions and layouts of the coins. PixiJS is used for the replication and displaying of the coins on the interface. Sprite sheets containing around a 1,000 different coins contributed to recreating the realistic digital coins on the display. Additionally, to make the coin appear more realistic, a shadow was casted over the image.

React

React is the tool which provides the user interface with the visualization of the coins. React is the framework that allows the website to listen to what the user wants and reorganize in response to user choices. This includes looking at coin names, getting a closer look at the coins, and choosing the specific layout of the coins.
