UCLA Dining Occupancy Monitoring Sensors:

The school “installed its privacy-friendly occupancy monitoring sensors in 11 UCLA dining locations covering 76,000 square feet of space.” This is extremely similar to our project, except this is even bigger. West Chester has 4 main on campus dining spaces, which is the big difference in this case.

Vanderbilt Sensors Across Dining and Library Buildings

The goal was to decrease frustration between students across campus during busy or highly populated times within busy public buildings. According to the page, “Students can view real-time library and dining location crowd levels on the free Waitz mobile app and theĀ Campus DiningĀ and Libraries websites.” This example is executed differently from ours but includes the same solution to the same problem. They also added counters in their libraries as well, taking it a step further from our idea for dining-only counters. Potentially this could be added after seeing good future results.
