Throughout TheJayZMixtape, the theme of Empowerment is very prevalent. By digitizing and analyzing Jay Z and his music, this project brings acknowledgment to Hip-Hop and notes that it just isn’t mean to be used as a form of entertainment, but that there is a much deeper meaning and how it is a great form of cultural expression.

Transforming personal experiences of struggle, and success into stories of motivation and success. Rambsy demonstrates that Jay Z uses assertive and insightful language in order to reinforce Jay Z as not just a monumental figure when it comes to music, but also as a cultural leader.

This visualization shows the use of similes used in his music. words such as “like”, “as”, and “than”. By looking at the graph you can tell that the prominence of “like” suggests that Jay Z uses this form of figurative language to enhance his storytelling in his music.
