Summary of Tools
The project gathered large-scale digitized newspapers and explored how newspapers shared public information flows during the 1918 pandemic. The outputs included both interpretive human analysis and computational results.
Visualization / Thematic Tracking
Themedelta is the visualization component of the products, designed to visalize results of topic modelling and temporal segmentation. This allows researched to follow specific words or clusters of words across time. Providing a graphical understanding how topic evolve overtime, which in this case is in historical newspapers during the pandemic time. Displaying temporal segments and word clusters/topics, highlighting patterns, emergence or decline of topics across segments..

Uses
In the Project
The project uses ThemeDelta to track evolving discourse around key topics such as vaccination, public warning, or shifts in tone over time. It helped interpret outputs from the dynamic temporal segmentation algorithm and the tone classifier, making results usable for historical analysis.

Outside
Marketing teams and brands could use this tool to track mentions of their products and campaigns over time. This could help them determine their positive or negative feedback, understanding what works for their company.

Link to DH
ThemeDelta exemplifies a Digital humanities approach by making large-scale textual analysis interpretable through visualization, bridging algorithmic methods with humanistic inquiry.
Documentation
The project mentions ThemeDelta and describes its purpose and function, clearly tying visualization to the main research outputs.
