Collaboration
Lisa Sprio, an “Assistant University Librarian for Digital Scholarship and Organizational Development at Rice University’s Fondren Library,” wrote a piece called “‘This Is Why We Fight’: Defining the Values of the Digital Humanities.” Collaboration, a key value of the Digital Humanities, is described as an “Emphasis that reflects the need for people with a range of skills to contribute to digital scholarship.” We continue to see the growth of digital implementation in the classroom. In order to thrive in today’s technological world, all people should be exposed to and actively practice digital technology in their education and/or workplace.

Collaboration is the key principle to a project like this. We are all connected at all times with modern technology. Lisa Spiro’s commitment to “Digital Scholarship” is displayed through a conversation-based project. This project grants access to digital conversation all in one place, available to students who need help completing their assignment they put off until 11:50 pm. On a serious note, digital connection to build friendships, study groups, and a more positive learning experience for all kids, ranging from introvert to extrovert. Collaboration builds stronger outcomes with the correct people, and university-run servers are where they build from a distance.
