The Greene Street Project was focused on creating a better environment throughout Manhattan by studying the 400 year history of one block. From this the authors were able to display information such as census records, graphs over the years about the job and housing markets and how they have adapted and changed throughout history and how these changes affected Greene Street. Additionally they have captured the historic features that have built the city to what it is now, such as old industrial buildings and murals. With all of this collected data they were able to put together a website that show the evolution of Greene Street from the great depression area up until 2016 where Greene Street is now one of the more luxurious areas within the SoHo neighborhood.
