Overview of Disciplines

History

History is the methodical study of the past, particularly the human past. A historian’s main job is to analyze and interpret pieces of primary and secondary evidence to construct reports about what happened in the past, why, and in which contexts. History is studied through the use of old documents, primary sources, and physical evidence to come to conclusions.

History shapes culture, and culture shapes history. Culture is a learned behavior from those who came before them, and then from before them. Culture is shaped from what has happened to others in the past.
