Preservation and reinterpretation of cultural memory through sound.

Cities and Memory captures the distinctive soundscapes of scenes around the world by audio recording both the raw untouched audio as well as a reimaged version. This unique dual approach helps seize and hold onto the specials sounds of cities and natural places which many are constantly evolving. By recording these sounds and inviting people to reimagine them Cities and Memory doesn’t just archive locations, it gives perception into how people connect and understand those places on an extensive level

By focusing on cultural memory and creative reinterpretation, the project aligns closely with digital humanities’ commitment to studying, reshaping, and preserving human culture through digital tools.
