The data in Photogrammar includes historical photographs taken throughout 1935-1944, including the Great Depression and World War II.
Where is the data from? The data is from the Library of Congress. It was then digitized through grants by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS), and Yale University with ongoing support from the University of Richmond.
Data format: Photographer’s name, date captured, location of photograph.
Subcategories in Photogrammar, such as the “Photographers” menu, allow users to explore all the photographers who contributed to the project. After choosing a photographer, information and background on the person’s life are provided, as well as the ability to scroll through all the photos they have taken.

Output data formats: These include the users’ ability to search and see individual photographers’ work, as well as Photogrammar’s timeline. On the project’s homepage, a map with different photographer’s names and markups along the timeline of when photos were taken allows users to see who took the photos, and when and where they were taken.

Connection to DH Best Practices: The project utilizes accurate metadata standards to ensure that each photograph is well-documented, allowing for easier searches and enabling users to understand the context of each image.
