Intro & Context

This project was created for DHM 280: Digital Humanities (Spring 2026) to evaluate the compatibility between Digital Humanities and Economics. Economics increasingly relies on digital datasets, statistical modeling, and computational tools to analyze human behavior and economic systems. Digital Humanities similarly uses digital tools to study human culture and social patterns. This project argues that Economics and Digital Humanities share tools, goals, and values that support interdisciplinary collaboration.

SCM is like being the traffic cop for everything you buy at the store. Supply chain managers study how a product gets from the factory where it’s made, through trucks and ships and warehouses, all the way to the shelf where you grab it. They use computers and math to figure out the fastest, cheapest way to move stuff without running out or wasting money, and they plan for problems like storms that stop trucks or factories that shut down.
