Values
This project overall finds itself treading on a few values that we have discussed within our class, the main one I will focus on is Transparency.
Within Digital Humanities, Transparency refers to the idea of clearly showing how information is gathered, selected, organized, and presented. The emphasis is on the idea of openness about how sources and methodology came to be. so that we as audiences can feel safer and assured about the material being presented.
The project itself goes ahead and practices this by clearly pulling from the course material applied to it and how it relates to Paris, Tyechia Thompson even goes ahead to state on the first page how there is a whole path dedicated to thanking all the source materials found, as well as thanking all the contributors for what each of them did in accordance with this project.
How does this relate to Digital Humanities?
This relates right back to best practices in Digital Humanities, as it is very important to be very open about how a project came to be. Who does what? where sources come from and how they come to be. This project does exactly that. This allows users to understand the clear documentation of how it was constructed.
