Overview
Amara is a project of the Participatory Culture Foundation(PCF), a non profit organization with a platform that allows you to caption/subtitle any video on the internet. The team that makes Amara consists of Aleli Alcala as the Chief Operations and Sustainability Officer, Thais Barros as the Project Manager, along with 22 other individuals that make up the Amara community. This program is available for free or through a monthly subscription for bigger subtitling projects.
Significance
Amara allows users to add subtitles/captions to video content so that those who cannot hear or understand the language of the video, can benefit from online video content.
“Amara can help make your videos accessible to the world”
