GOALS OF THE TRUMAN PLATFORM AND HOW IT RELATES TO DIGITAL HUMANITIES

The Truman Platform, created by Cornell University’s Social Media Lab, had many goals upon its creation and one of the main goals is to study social media behavior. Social media is a gathering place for different cultures to share a common place. When studying social media behavior, researchers are observing how people from all different cultures interact online.

There are three main goals of Digital Humanities: analyzing and interpreting cultural data, preserving and protecting cultural data, and publishing, providing access to, and sharing cultural data. The Truman Platform’s goal directly correlates with analyzing and interpreting cultural data.
