Research Values & DH Values

While looking through the website, we analyzed research values that align with Digital Humanities (DH) values even though they did not detail them.

One probable research value is openness and access. This project ties massively to fully usable digital archives like Chronicling America and Peel’s Provinces. By engaging these resources, the project naturally grasps the DH value of building cultural heritage knowledge that is generally free for research and public commitment. Additionally, the project aims to figure out how data spreads simultaneously as a historical event. By copying the DH principle of democratizing access to information and attending public scholarship, this event demonstrates a dedication to knowledge and understanding.

This study further shows interdisciplinary inquiry and collaboration as research values. This website mentions historical and rhetorical analysis and data mining skills, indicating a team with various areas of experience. This versatile approach combines computational modes with humanities scholarship, precisely reflecting a core DH value. Said collaborations grant the progress of novel research questions and techniques, leading to a wealthier and more distinct understanding of the past than could be achieved through a single, ordered lens.
