Space Invaders is a digital humanities’ project created to assist students in finding living spaces, while giving landlords the opportunity to represent their apartments or houses. Space Invaders connects with the digital humanities because it involves the area of West Chester and uses GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools. It brings student who all share the same interest in finding a place, together. More information can be found on the Overview and Context section.
As a current student at West Chester University, I understand the difficulties of trying to find a quality area to live in and how quickly apartments can go off the market. I want to make apartment searching easier with previous renters’ reviews, room prices, and the building location all on one website.
Space Invaders is created for the Introduction to Digital Humanities class (DHM 280) at West Chester University.
Jenna Abbott is the only creator of Space Invaders. She is a Computer Science major with a minor in Business Geographic Systems.
