Three tools used in Photogrammar:
- Treemap
- Metadata Dashboard
- Colorspace
The treemap is a major tool used in this project. Illustration of the 1942 classification scheme created by Paul Vanderbilt. Twelve primary subject headings, one thousand thirty-one subheadings, and finally sub-subheadings make up the three-tier classification. Classifications were applied to 88,000 photos. With Photogrammar 3.0, the treemap is now a fully functional feature.

Analysis of Critical Steps
Critical steps in Photogrammar include data acquisition from diverse archival sources, such as The Smithsonian Archives of American Art, ensuring a comprehensive representation of America’s visual history. Subsequently, advanced data processing techniques are applied to analyze and categorize this vast photographic data, facilitating meaningful exploration and interpretation by users. Finally, user-friendly interfaces and interactive features are crucial in presenting the analyzed data effectively, enhancing accessibility and fostering deeper insights into America’s socio-cultural evolution captured in the photographs.
This does reflect best practices by using an organized system making information easy to access. Overall, these tools help to make sure that the website runs smoothly and has no issues.
