Mapping History at the University of Illinois

One project that is similar to ours is the Mapping History at the University of Illinois project, which maps the history of the campus and organizes them into different categories/eras at the University. Similarities between our project and this project include that both are projects done on a college campus and both collect data that from past events on campus. Differences between the projects include that one is about recording campus history with different events correlated to different times periods while our project maps data about crime on campus and where it occurs.
Accessibility Mapping at the University of Pennsylvania

Another project that is similar to ours is the Accessibility Mapping Project, which is a project mapping physical and social barriers on college campuses done by the University of Pennsylvania. Similarities between this project and ours is that they are both done on college campuses and are projects about mapping data. While our project focuses mainly on crime rate this project seeks to find different barriers on their campus that can make it challenging for some students to access certain things. It then takes these barriers and lays it out on a map with a bunch of information on what that barrier is. Another difference is that ours will be a heat map. This will be a much better and more efficient way of mapping since it will show areas of high crime as one pin while the Accessibility Mapping Project just has a bunch of pins and It almost feels crowded.
