My name is Madison Conaway and I am the admin of this blog. I am a current BSED Literatures Track Major at West Chester University. The purpose of this blog is to explore the connection between Judith Butler’s feminist theory in her work Gender Trouble and how it relates to Lerner and Lowe’s musical adaptation, My Fair Lady. Specifically this blog will be exploring the ideas of performativity, feminism, gender roles and the gender binary as seen in scene five, act two of the musical. We will be delving deep into the worlds of Butler and many other gender theorists to fully examine this highly misogynistic play.
