Building History
A project that is relatively similar to West Chester Views is called Building History. Building History is a digital collection created by the Paul V. Galvin Library at Illinois Institute of Technology. It shows what the campus is today and what it once was and points out the changes that have been made. Building History focuses on the 20 landmark buildings the campus contains and informs viewers of their names, dates created, and their use for the University. We plan on using Building History as a guideline for creating our project being that many of our ideas are similar.

The Virtual MLK Project
The Virtual MLK Project brings history to life at the Hunt Library. It’s a collection of history photos and videos that show was life was like back in the 1960’s alongside Dr. Martin Luther King.
Despite the significance of King’s 1960 “Fill up the Jails” speech, which marked the first time the civil rights leader called for direct nonviolent action, no recording of the original has ever been discovered. To more fully comprehend King’s address as an experience, a team led by communication professor, Victoria Gallagher, created an exhibit that allows viewers to see and hear it for themselves.
Combining archival photos with audio and video recordings from a re-enactment of the speech, the Virtual MLK project team designed an audio model and visual exhibition for NC State’s James B. Hunt Jr. Teaching and Visualization Lab where visitors can immerse themselves in King’s speech.
