The digital project found relevant to digital marketing is “Advertising America”. The J. Walter Thompson Company Archive documents the history, operation, policies, and accomplishments of one of the world’s largest and oldest advertising firms. The papers revealed many aspects of twentieth-century cultural, social, business, marketing, consumer and economic history while investigating the human psyche. Advertising America is a project that represents aspects of digital marketing as a field.
One of the biggest ways this digital project connects to digital humanities is by preserving old print advertisements, which creates accessible resources for studying historical contexts and advertising strategies, connecting past and present. Digital humanities prioritizes history, culture, and experimentation in the field. Advertising America supports these factors and provides tools for furthering the world of digital marketing.

In the above example, I picked a visual gallery from Advertising America of Brillo ads from the 1950s. The style and context of these print ads clearly show their age. Most of these ads have women as the main target audience, using photos of mothers cleaning and using the Brillo products. These are great examples of the culture and preservation of marketing strategies.
