Discipline

Communication– Communication studies (or communication science) is an academic discipline that deals with processes of human communication and behavior, patterns of communication in interpersonal relationships, social interactions and communication in different cultures.  [1]Communication is commonly defined as giving, receiving or exchanging ideas, information, signals or messages through appropriate media, enabling individuals or groups to persuade, to seek information, to give information or to express emotions effectively.(Wikipedia)

Communication and culture are deeply interconnected, with each influencing and shaping the other. Communication serves as the medium through which cultural norms, values, and practices are created, shared, and perpetuated. Conversely, culture provides the context and framework that guides how communication occurs within a society.

Digital Humanities (DH) and Communication Studies are deeply interconnected, with DH offering innovative tools and methodologies that enhance the exploration and understanding of communication processes.(Wiki)

Quantitative communication research focuses on analyzing communication behaviors, patterns, and messages using numerical data, statistical methods, and empirical research.

Qualitative communication research focuses on understanding the meaning, context, and interpretation of communication through non-numerical data.
