Tools and Methods

The key methodology being used in Project Play is bringing people together through discussion and consultation. Project Play’s biggest event is an annual summit with the biggest and brightest minds in the different areas within sports. This summit has over 500+ leaders and innovators that lead advanced conversation that will transcend the future of everything sport related. Another key method used in Project Play is data-driven insights, this method collects research, surveys, and reports to access trends and change policies.

Project Play pushes out their “8 Plays” Framework for their youth initiation which outlines actionable strategies and techniques for increasing youth participation in sports.

Play #1 – Ask the Kids What They Want

Play #2 – Reintroduce Free Play

Play #3 – Encourage Sports Sampling

Play #4 – Revitalize In-Town Leagues

Play #5 – Think Small

All these key methods Project Play utilizes, connects to digital humanities through their use of data analysis, digital storytelling, and technological driven engagement to improve youth sports access and participation
