Mapping Police Violence has a strong social justice impact. It seeks to:
- Raise Awareness: By making police violence data accessible, the project raises awareness of the scale and patterns of police violence, particularly its disproportionate impact on Black and Latino communities.
- Influence Policy: With reliable, publicly available data, the project aids advocacy organizations in pushing for legislative and policy changes. By giving voice to marginalized communities, it empowers them to advocate for systemic reform.
The project highlights disparities in law enforcement practices, contributing to ongoing conversations around race, justice, and equality in the U.S.
