Social Media Data Stewardship provides easy access to the tools<\/a> and history of the use\/misuse<\/a> of data curation, data production, and the intermediaries of social media used by the project. The project provides access to internally and externally created and stored case studies<\/a> and public reports<\/a> of social media data collection and use. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The links to the public reports from 2017 are not inherently functional as of the writing of this review, which unintentionally limits their access to being open only to people who understand the interworkings of internet uniform resource locators (URLs<\/a>). As it stands, this error accidentally lowers the degree of openness and transparency this project can have by locking away the ease of access from people who are not competent in the workaround for this mistake. Nonetheless, the information locked behind this error does provide adequate credibility and function to the project’s intentions and purposes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The toolkits and documentation given are available for public use but are tailored for use by educators, other researchers, and political and business purposes. These are groups that would likely benefit the most from digital behavioral research data, though the general public can still utilize the tools and research materials and methods as well. The Social Media Data Stewardship project provides information and resources with their listed case studies and organized public records to benefit educators and researchers looking into social media data and data stewardship. The toolkits this project shares gives other researchers access to the same research and collection methods to allow for replication and further experimentation. Business and politics can benefit from the organized studies and research methodologies to provide clearly quantifiable study or market results for future practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project site explains the term data stewardship and the history of social media research in a comprehensive, encompassing domain that works to build an understanding of the significance of social media data and behavioral studies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
