{"id":15,"date":"2023-03-28T19:24:42","date_gmt":"2023-03-28T19:24:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/classprojects.digitalwcu.org\/jhfcake\/?page_id=15"},"modified":"2023-03-28T19:24:42","modified_gmt":"2023-03-28T19:24:42","slug":"tools","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/classprojects.digitalwcu.org\/jhfcake\/tools\/","title":{"rendered":"Tools"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.techrepublic.com\/article\/inside-amazons-clickworker-platform-how-half-a-million-people-are-training-ai-for-pennies-per-task\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.techrepublic.com\/article\/inside-amazons-clickworker-platform-how-half-a-million-people-are-training-ai-for-pennies-per-task\/\">In 2001, Amazon created a digital platform to provide on-demand labor in a way that was accessible online.<\/a> The company needed a way to solve inventory problems in a way that computers couldn\u2019t and thus Amazon Mechanical Turks was made. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=EZcQui_REt8\">MTurk<\/a> is a crowdsourcing website that allows businesses to hire task members to complete jobs on-demand. For this, an artificial intelligence analysis system is used, which is run by a human intelligence task force. This virtual system allows AI to handle small and easier tasks while humans tend to more demanding cases. An example of this is when an AI machine answers a phone call, and the AI system answers questions and helps until they are no longer able to, and then a human worker takes over. While the AI technology is a huge aspect of the system as a whole, the human task workers are essentially the power in AMT websites.<br>The task members hired for this project were instructed to investigate patterns in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brit.co\/selfiexploratory-dashboard-selfie-trends\/\">\u201c3,840 photos from six global cities, or 640 per city\u201d<\/a> that they were given in order to identify selfie trends.
