Migration Diaries<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Migration Diaries<\/a> is a platform dedicated to sharing the lived experiences of migrants, focusing on their journeys beyond typical narratives of tragedy and resilience. The website curates personal stories to provide a deeper understanding of migration, placing these experiences within broader academic, policy, and societal contexts. The stories featured are submitted by migrant workers or through consented contributions from researchers. The platform aims to democratize migration narratives and explore themes such as family, health, land loss, and environmental factors affecting coastal communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Southern Collective <\/a>launched Migration Diaries in 2020. The SC was started by Aarthi Sridhar, Annu Jalais, Rapti Siriwardane-de Zoysa, and Alin Kadfak \u2014 a group of anthropologists and social scientists with strong field connections in coastal and marine realms. Sridar and Jalais took the lead on Migration Diaries. The project focuses on migrants around the Indian Ocean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
