The data throughout the project consists of lyrical, collaborators, and sample data. All of the data is displayed through graphs, charts, and all different of ways through Scalar. Primary Input Data and Sources<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lyrics: A complete and annotated analysis of Jay Z’s 12 solo albums came from Genius<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Collaborations: Lots of features artists were provided throughout the project. Showing all the very important people that Jay Z worked with throughout his musical career. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dataverse: Used to store and publish datasets like “Samples” and “Collaborators”, which contained very important information in regards to sample songs, featured artists as well as his producers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Digital Humanities best practice: Documentation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Kenton Rambsy and the JayZMixtape strongly reflects documentation throughout the project. Through its very clear, easy to read, in depth information. As well as easy to use of information, data sets and charts. Data throughout the entirety of the project were pulled from genius.com<\/a>, Dataverse from the Texas Digital Library, as well as a bunch of academic and cultural sources. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
