He grew up in the Marcy Projects, which influenced many of his lyrics about struggle and success. He earned his bachelor\u2019s degree from Morehouse College and his master\u2019s and PhD from the University of Kansas. His work focuses on using data and digital tools to study patterns in Black literature and music, including projects like&nbsp;<em>#TheJayZMixtape<\/em>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\"><\/pre>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This project was made by John Ketz and Mia Buonadonna at West Chester University.
