The goals we established in reviewing this project were to examine both the urban cultures of public space in the early modern era and to see if they communicated the memories and meanings of the public space in these European cities that are being studied. The project, Hidden Cities does a great job of examining the urban cultures and the environment in the early modern era. You have the ability to click on a city they offer and see what it was like at a given time in the early modern era. It also does a good job communicating the memories and meaning of certain historical events and artifacts with the ability to be able to find more about “the objects in this place” which range from shopping signs to armor.
