All residence halls on main campus are one hundred percent at capacity and putting even a few more students in, is not an easy task at all. South Campus is primarily the same, there are extensively long waiting lists and spots for the next semester are already taken. This has resulted in mass outrage from students and their families, there has been student led strikes, news articles and much more trying to grasp information on why this is such a ongoing issue. Prices of housing downtown, and off campus have risen drastically in the last few years, so if you need housing on a severe budget then you might be running into a bit of an issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This project will mainly focus on documenting the struggles that students have been having due to this crisis and our plan to stop it. By creating a comprehensive website mainly consisting of graphs, interactive maps and charts, in order for students to have an easier time finding housing and what fits their needs best. Students play a very important role in a university and leaving them without housing is a very hard situation to be in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Who: Students at West Chester University, those seeking on-campus housing are scrambling as there is an extreme shortage on all parts of campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Where: West Chester University campus. This is also affecting off campus homes- as well as homes located in downtown West Chester, houses off campus and downtown are drastically more expensive and students might have no choice to do that unless they get lucky and have off campus housing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When: This housing crisis began to be a very big problem for the university in 2021, and as the years went on, it got more drastic and it was affecting more and more students every single year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What: This university does not have enough on campus housing in order to house all the students at the university. There was a significant amount of backlash due to this.
