One digital project that could be considered similar to this would be StartPlaying. StartPlaying is a website that helps users find and create a community for table-top role playing games (TTRPG). They are similar to our project because they are helping to connect members of a community with each other in a way that easy for all to partake in, both in person and online. However, they differ from us in that they target the RPG community while we target the TCG community and card shops.
Another form of digital project that could be considered similar to this would be TCGPlayer. TCGPlayer is a website that allows anyone to sell or buy their trading cards and tells users the average price a card or card set is currently going for. This is similar to our design in the fact that they specialize exclusively in TCG and wanting to connect and empower the community. While this is very similar to us, they differ in the fact that they are a shop and don’t provide any information on in-person locations or events regarding TCG.
