Surfacing displays transparency by creating an easily comprehensible collection of information that users from beginners to experts are able to understand.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Openness\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The value of openness means lack of secrecy or concealment. This project exemplifies openness by showing exactly where its data comes from and the organizations that help the project further its own research.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaboration\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Collaboration means the act of working with one or more individuals to create a product. Surfacing is a perfect example of collaboration because without working with other organizations, the Surfacing project would not be possible. Surfacing is a relatively new project and can only function through collaboration with other companies. The first submarine cable was laid in August of 1858 while Surfacing was created in 2016. It was a necessity to work with outside organizations to get the full picture of cable networks for this project.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Connectedness\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>This value details the state of being joined or linked. The Surfacing project displays this value by being connected to SubOptic and the International Cable Protection Committee.
