Detailed Tool (Voyant Tools): Voyant is an open-source, web-based application for performing text analysis. It allows the project to take a newsletter’s text and instantly see which words (like “writing,” “revision,” or “community”) are the most prominent, providing a “distant reading” of the program’s values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overview: This project uses Omeka S for the archival database and Voyant Tools for analyzing the frequency of older terms in the newsletters.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Sustainability and Best Practices<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Following DH best practices, this project utilizes OCR (Optical Character Recognition) to make text data machine-readable. The data will be organized using Dublin Core metadata to ensure the project is interoperable with other education-based archives.
